More than 200 diseases are spread through food. Millions of people fall ill every year and many die as a result of eating unsafe food. Most of these illnesses are attributed to contaminated food or water. (World Health Organization)

Pesticides, veterinary drugs, plant growth regulators, environmental pollutants, natural toxins and, in some cases, packaging materials are only few examples of food contaminants considered concrete risks for human health.

This is why an extensive and severely regulatory legislation has been created and developed worldwide and  investigations of food quality, science and technology carried out by the food industries, governmental agencies, or universities are extremely important.

Food analysis involves the separation and identification of very complex mixtures and the difficulties are compounded by the fact that the components are present at very low concentration.

DANI Instruments has developed key analytical techniques for food analysis, enabling complex organic substances to be separated, quantified and identified quickly and cheaply. Typical applications pertain quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of food composition, flavour and aroma components and, precisely, potentially contaminating agents.
